The school year coming to an end means more free time for your tween girl, but how can you fill that time? It is important to explore new hobbies and activities as a way to bond and spend time without screens. We’ve curated a mom-approved list of fun things for your tween to try this summer to beat the boredom and have fun doing it!Â
Which ones are you planning on trying this summer?
1. Host a Movie Night
Grab your favorite snacks, get in your jammies (like our new DreamScape collection, perhaps?), and bring out those blankets and pillows – it’s time for movie night! You can even go the extra mile and make it a theme night (e.g., Disney movie night) and pick movies and snacks pertaining specifically to that theme.
2. Make Tie-Dye Shirts
An easy, enjoyable activity AND a cute way to upcycle your clothes? Yes, please! All you need for this one is a dye kit, and an old t-shirt. If you’re feeling ambitious, you could even take this opportunity to customize other items in your closet, such as shoes or hoodies, as well!
3. Bonfire with Friends
A great opportunity to make memories AND s'mores – sign us up! Bonfires are a must for a great summer; there’s nothing like sitting around the fire, playing games, telling stories and jokes with loved ones.
4. Berry Picking
What’s your jam? Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries? Find your local berry patch and pick up some fresh fruit for your next smoothie or yogurt bowl! This activity is inexpensive and a great way to spend some time outdoors.
5. Volunteer For a Special Cause
Whether it be at your local animal shelter, library, or food bank, take some time to give back to your community this summer by volunteering. Not only is this an accessible activity for all, but it is also a meaningful way to spend your time.
6. Rearrange Your Room
If your tween gets bored with her room quickly, this one’s for her. Rearrange furniture, wall art such as posters and drawings, etc., and completely revamp their space! This is a fun and free way to give their room a makeover. Give it a try!
How’s your summer bucket list coming along? There’s so much to do, make the most of every moment!
